A struggling young composer is haunted by the music of George Gershwin ... until he meets the Ghost of Gershwin ... and his life is never the same again. Set in Brooklyn today, this romantic musical harkens back to the wacky world of the 1930s where the tenants of this apartment building are all involved in the arts. People burst into song and dance at the drop of a hat. This effervescent musical features all original songs, which are a delightful homage to the legacy of American icons George & Ira Gershwin. How would you feel if you got to meet your idol and ask him any question you wanted? And what if the answer had nothing to do with the question, but changed your life anyway? You’d sing, wouldn’t you?

REVIEWS for The Ghost of Gershwin:

"As Dennis, Mr. Gorden proves to be a real crowd pleaser with his overblown takes and reactions...along the lines of Gig Young and Tony Randall. There is a lot to sing about in the Group Rep’s The Ghost of Gershwin. It contains a bevy of freshly penned ditties that are nostalgic in tone and capture the style and essence of a bygone era perfectly. A new old-fashioned musical that even the ghost of Gershwin would be proud to call his own."
- Stage and Cinema

"Gorden makes Dennis a likable mess. The Ghost of Gershwin has much to sing about including a terrific musical score, sleek choreography, dynamite direction and a super talented cast."
-Grigware Reviews

"Gorden's duet with Bares, “Something Sleeping”, is amazingly touching and heartfelt... they have a nice onstage chemistry. A Wonderful Musical Fantasy Extravaganza!"
-The Geek Authority

"The cast is personable and charming. The book has the kooky offbeat feel of the 1930s era Gershwin musicals. Nice effort by all involved in creating an original Gershwin musical from the ground up."
- Haines His Way

"Great fun and thoroughly entertaining. Each and every actor in this great new musical gives us everything we want in a musical. You will be singing these new songs all the way home, and dancing your way back to see THE GHOST OF GERSHWIN again and again. This show is on its way to becoming a classic."
